Correction — Death Location: Point Lookout Prison Camp, Maryland (not Lookout Mountain, Tennessee)

Find A Grave Memorial #226854859 confirms that CPL Andrew Gatewood Price died 11 July 1864 and is buried at Point Lookout Confederate Cemetery, Scotland, St. Mary's County, Maryland. He served in Company G, 11th Virginia Cavalry and died as a prisoner of war at Point Lookout Prison Camp — a Union facility on the Chesapeake Bay — not at the Battle of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee (November 1863). His name appears in Point Lookout Prison Camp and Hospital by Richard H. Triebe, page 406.

Point Lookout was one of the largest Union prisoner-of-war camps of the Civil War, holding as many as 20,000 Confederate prisoners. Conditions were notoriously harsh; thousands died of disease, exposure, and malnutrition. Andrew Gatewood Price was among them.
