Robert Beard entered Revolutionary War service in 1780 in Augusta County, Virginia. His pension is documented in Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records (Wardell, Vol. 2): Pension file R190. He was pensioned in Washington County, Tennessee in 1832, consistent with his death there the same year.
